This year we turned the grand old age of one and wanted to throw a party to celebrate not only what we have achieved so far, but also to announce some of our future plans and ambitions for the Guild moving forward.

We were down at the wonderful Yellow Arch and had a fabulous line up of members involved with music, poetry, stalls and interactive happenings to really bring our membership together and showcase the great talent we have in the city.

Scott Russell opened the evening for us, with his beautiful vocals and soulful lyrics which led perfectly to poet Stephen Scott and his darkly comic tales of ordinary and extraordinary life told with a compelling deadpan kind of calm.

Sarah Sharp then brought us her deliciously eccentric pop and we ended the evening on a perfect note with multi-instrumentalist Jim Ghedi accompanied by Morven Bryce on violin.

Away from the stage, we threw potatoes at our least favourite vegetable politicians with Madame Zucchini’s political coconut shy and we told our birthday stories at the Bare Project’s story swap. Artists and makers LearnCreateSell, Doodle Monkey, Illustrator Kate and Dot Cotton Crafts were selling their wares and hungry bellies were satisfied for TONCO's amazingly tasty food.

A great night was had by all.

Thank you to everyone involved, everyone who came down and of course to everyone that has supported us in our first year - Here's to an even better year two!
