About the Writers Hub:

Run by writers, for writers, the Writers Hub is a brand-new creative support space and scheme curated by Writer, Beverley Ward in partnership with Kurious Arts. Located in Castle House in the City Centre, its aim is to connect writers in the city with the resources, training, people and space to develop their work in order to succeed in the industry.

Opportunities provided include:

  • A regular programme of affordable workshops and masterclasses for various writing styles and mediums.
  • Monthly socials for like minded artists to connect and work together.
  • Writers Café Drop in Sessions every Wednesday and Thursday to gain feedback and advice on work.
  • Facilitators, Mentors, Editors and Consultants who can help advise on where to take your work next i.e. publishing, launch events etc.
  • Bookable spaces for launches, collaborative working or just quiet areas to write.
  • Access to printing, photocopying and refreshments as you work.
  • An online noticeboard/forum with links to opportunities within the city and around the UK.
  • A members only library (both physical and online) with practical resources on writing, publishing and the industry.
  • Potential to publish with Kurious Press and collaborate on launch events for your work.

As we understand how financially tough things are in the current climate and want to ensure that the scheme is accessible to all, there will be several bursaries and opportunities available to help those who aren’t currently in the position to join the scheme. Also, all socials and Writers Café’s will remain free for the foreseeable future, unless stated otherwise.
