Covid-19 Resources & Funding Opportunities

Arts Council England have made £160m available to provide support for the creative sector during the crisis. Funding is available for both organisations (outside of the NPO) and individuals.

Arts and Culture Impact Fund – A £20 million fund offering loans between £150,000 and £1 million to help social enterprises in the arts, cultural and heritage sectors innovate and grow.

CAF Coronavirus Emergency Fund – supporting smaller charitable organisations in the UK affected by the impact of Covid-19. Grants of up to £10,000 are available.

The Prince’s Trust and Natwest Enterprise Relief Fund – offering grants to 18 to 30-year olds across the UK who are self-employed and/or running their own business. 

European Culture of Solidarity Fund – supporting imaginative cultural initiatives that, in the midst of the global pandemic crisis, reinforce European solidarity and the idea of Europe as a shared public space.

Disability Arts Online – Disability Arts online have launched a new commissions pot which disabled artists, working across any art form, can apply to.

Freelands Foundation Emergency Fund – £1.5m available for artists and visual arts freelancers experiencing financial hardship, including those not eligible for existing public funds.


South Yorkshire Creatives Covid-19 Hardship Fund – small grants available (up to £500) available for freelance creatives

Help raise £10000 to FFF (Funds For Freelancers) – a financial resource for actors, creatives, ushers working in theatre.

The Artist General Benevolent Fund – financially supporting professional fine artists in need and their dependents who cannot work or earn due to accident, illness or older age.

Creative Resources for Freelancers – a round-up of companies offering their services or software for free, or at a discounted rate.


Actors Benevolent Fund – providing support for actors unable to work due to injury, illness or old age

Sheffield Theatres are providing support for artists, including weekly ‘office hours’, where they’ll be answering questions and helping to decipher news and advice as it emerges.

Help for Musicians – Advice relating to Coronavirus for musicians and music related roles.

NABS – support for the advertising and media industries with coaching available (via telephone and video calling), plus financial support and therapy referrals.

The Children’s Media Conference – hosting free webinars on Friday afternoons – next up on 15 May is Content in the Time of Corona.

PRS Emergency Relief Fund – the first round of funding is over but keep your eyes peeled, they’re planning to launch the next phase of applications in early May.

Music For All – Individual Grants (up to £500) and Community Project Funding (up to £2,500) available.


BFI FAN – Covid-19 Resilience Fund – designed to support film exhibitors during periods of closure; helping them maintain core assets and connections with audiences.

Financial guidance for film, TV and cinema professionals during the Covid-19 pandemic, thanks to the Film and TV Charity

Northern Voices – Factual Development Opportunity – BBC Three and BBC England are collaborating on a new commission, looking for new local talent to explore what it means to be young and British in England today.


The Gottlieb Foundation Individual Support Grant – For painters, sculptors and printmakers who have been creating mature art for at least 20 years and who are in current financial need.
