Applying for ACE Project Grants

Union St, One Space, 18-20 Union Street, Sheffield, S1 2JR
1:00 pm - 9th May, 2018

We are delighted to invite Jonathan McGrath, Relationship Manager, Combined Arts, Arts Council England, to run a 2 hour session for members on applying for the new ACE Project Grants.

Last month Arts Council England (ACE) launched their new Arts Council National Lottery Project Grants open-access programme offering grants of between £1,000 – £100,000 for arts, museums and libraries projects, replacing Grants for the Arts.

The programme sets out to achieve ACE’s mission, ‘great art and culture for everyone’. Project Grants supports a broad range of not-for-profit projects that create new work and sustain quality to help new audiences across England to engage with arts and culture.

The workshop outline from Jonathan:

With the arrival of the new Arts Council England Project Grants fund there are many artists who feel locked out of opportunities because they may not know how to navigate our application system or what they need to do to qualify for funding, I aim cover all of the building blocks that you need to gather in order to build a good funding bid.

If you have the foundations for your project it will be easy to write the bid and easy for us here at Arts Council England to fully understand your plans and the argument for investing in your work. Although it may not always feel like it, we at Arts Council England really want you to succeed and this session will help you get closer to doing that, after the session I am also happy to make myself available to attendees to discuss ideas or projects and signpost you on to partners that you may need to help make your ideas happen.

Before joining Arts Council I spent 17 years making and touring my own creative work all over the world and have lectured at several universities across the UK, I have myself applied to Arts Council for my own work in the past and I understand some of the challenges you may be facing.

I am looking forward to meeting you!

We are hoping to repeat this session again in the evening for those who can't attend daytime events.

This is a strictly members only event and booking is required.
