Artists and Writers Unite! How to break into the world of art writing

Roco Creative Coop 342 Glossop Rd Sheffield S10 2HW
10:00 am - 12th October, 2018

This 1-day symposium will explore the mysterious and sometimes difficult to access world of art writing, and uncover ways that artists and writers can join up to enrich their respective practices.

Presenters include Lara Eggleton, freelance writer and Managing Editor at Corridor8, Sara Jaspan, freelance writer and Exhibitions Editor at Creative Tourist, Gabrielle de la Puente from The White Pube and Elaine Speight from In Certain Places.

Each will share valuable insights and reflect on their experiences as creative thinkers, writers and editors. The event will also address how digital platforms are key to opening up critical debate and extending artists’ exposure.

There will be ample time for questions and discussion throughout the day, as well as opportunities to meet and chat with other creative professionals.

Free to attend but booking is essential as places are limited.

Lunch and refreshments provided (v/vg/gf options available).

This event has been curated by Corridor8 and co-produced by Sheffield Creative Guild. It forms part of Making Ways, a programme supported by Sheffield Culture Consortium through Arts Council England to showcase, celebrate and develop the exceptional contemporary visual art produced in the city. Additional support has been generously provided by Marketing Sheffield and City of Makers.
