Artist Open Call – Women’s EURO Town Centre Window Dressing Programme (Reflections of Rotherham)

We are seeking to appoint up to six artists to dress windows of local businesses, in keeping with the tournament but not to infringe on UEFA Right’s Protection programme.

As part of the city dressing programme, we would like to help support local businesses within the town centre to dress their windows, in keeping with the tournament but not to infringe on UEFA Right’s Protection programme. All businesses have been contacted to opt into the programme, which will be offering to them free of charge.

We would like the designs to reflect Rotherham as well as football such as:

  • Our heritage sites of Keppel’s Column, Catcliffe Cone and Waterloo Kiln, Clifton Park Museum or Wentworth Woodhouse
  • Our Green Spaces with Rotherham being over 70% green, with trees and flowers
  • Flowers and footballs flowing from a screw down tap 

No reference is to be made to the tournament or have the WEURO logo or UEFA logo.

There are approximately 32 shops who have applied, allocation of windows will be shared out.

Any material can be used, to note, it needs to be removeable and doesn’t damage any of the windows. 

Application: 

We are seeking to appoint up to six artists to deliver the programme. 

Artists will be required to send:

  • A proposal – An outline of the artwork to be used, this may be just a sample of the design or a written brief of what will be provided, listing the theme to which it will reference.  
  • Examples of previous work.

Additional requirements:

  • The artist will be required to provide details of their own Public Liability up to £1 million.

Budget & Timescales

A budget of £75 per window has been given, which should include any materials used.
