Join theatre maker and cultural producer Lora Krasteva for an informal conversation on Wednesday 3rd of November 6.00pm to 8.00pm at The Bank, Sheffield Theatres.
Lora is working on a new project, Becoming British, and as part of her process is holding conversations with peers about national identity, Britishness and who gets to define those.
Becoming British is an exhibition with performative elements and this conversation is the first of a series to meet with other artists who might be interested in the following topics: nation building, centering immigrant voices, opposing the hostile environment, dismantling borders and other systems of oppression, art and activism and visibilizing lived experiences.
This conversation is hosted in conjunction with Tommi Bryson, Talent Development Co-ordinator at Sheffield Theatres. There will be a couple of starting questions as prompts and we will collectively navigate the topics and perspectives that arise.
If you’re interested in attending, please send a brief email to Lora and project producer Claire Gilbert at [email protected] by Tuesday 2nd November midnight outlining what aspect of the project interests you the most. You can send that in writing, video or audio. You do not need to disclose personal lived experience at any point neither in the expression of interest nor during the conversation on the day.
We offer £10/h for your participation.
On the day and following Sheffield Theatres protocol, you will need to provide proof of negative lateral flow test (sms or email).
