Community Engagement Creative Manager – The Sheffield Wheat Experiment

Are you creative, organised, adaptive and good at working with a wide range of people with different needs? Are you interested in creating spaces for dialogues, reimagining and change? Can you design, organise and deliver events and activities? Do you have an interest in food systems and growing food or wheat? Do you have a track record of delivering participatory / socially engaged arts, or community & schools projects?

Contract: Contractor fixed-term (June 2022 and April 2024 (184 days))
Hours: 2 days per week but there may be periods when more intensive work is required as well as occasional evenings and weekends.
Fee: £22,500 (including VAT if applicable)

We require a Community Engagement Creative Manager to help coordinate and drive forward our planned work programme.

This role will involve leading on community engagement activities as well as a wide range of events and activities to be agreed in close collaboration with the Project Director. It will also involve liaising with the project steering group and to provide an energetic and highly organised approach to maximising the levels of participation and quality engagement with the project.

The appointed individual or organisation may not have specific experience of growing or wheat, although this will be welcomed, but should have a track record of developing and engaging people and communities using creative approaches to activities, dialogue, spaces and events and other innovative methods. They should be interested in and understand the underlying values and objectives of the project. The Community Engagement Creative Manager will lead on all aspects of the community engagement programme which will also include organising events for micro-growers and other activities as agreed with the Project Director.
