The Director of Finance & Resources will be responsible for leading the strategic financial management and operations of the Trust and its commercial subsidiary; and will shape strategic decision making as a key member of the Executive team.
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Up to £50,000
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- leading the Finance and Resources directorate – to include Finance, HR, Commercial, Operations, Estates and Corporate Resources
- preparing budgets and forecasts – working with budget holders to ensure the efficient and effective use of financial resources
- continual improvement of accounting process and systems
- reviewing management accounts and KPI’s
- submission of VAT and other taxation returns
- leading the preparation and audit of the annual statutory financial statements
- identification, management and control of designated and restricted funds
- cash-flow management
- maintaining effective systems for collecting and the optimisation of donations through gift aid
- supporting colleagues in preparing grant applications and negotiations with all funding bodies and monitor the performance of grant funded activities of the Museums
- overseeing the HR function; ensuring HR policies and procedures are legally compliant and act as the strategic lead for IT provision, liaising closely with our IT provider
- the accurate and timely processing of payroll and pensions
- the success of the commercial subsidiary and liaison with the Board of Directors
- ensuring the trust is appropriately insured across its sites, people, activities and collections
- the trust’s property arrangements
Key Skills / Qualifications:
- Fully qualified member of CCAB accounting body
- Proven track record within a financial management role
- Experience of overseeing HR, IT and facilities is preferred
- Experience of leading and motivating a team
- Ability to communicate complex financial information at all levels of the business
