As Migration Matters Festival approaches, they’re looking to recruit freelance technicians on a casual basis to cover shifts operating shows during the in person festival in a range of venues across Sheffield.
The festival will see a range of multi-form arts events, which will be held in-person, with some events being streamed online.
Technical Stage Managers:
Migration Matters are looking for Technical Stage Managers to help make visiting companies feel at home. You’ll be their port of call from when they arrive at the venue, and available to run the technical side of their events. Tasks include:
- Pre-rigging audio, lighting and video equipment
- Assisting companies with get ins
- Programming lighting systems
- Operating shows – lighting and sound cues
- Assisting companies with get outs
They’re also looking for technicians to assist with the process of streaming in-person events onto our digital platform. These roles would include:
- Camera operation
- Video mixing
- System setup
Migration Matters especially welcome applications from technicians who experience racism and/or with experience of migration, displacement, or seeking sanctuary.
The rate of pay for these roles is £12/ hour, with a minimum call time of 4 hours per shift.
