Sheffield Museums – Craft Jam / makers needed

Posted on: 11/10/2021

Sheffield Museums‘ flagship late night crofting extravaganza, Craft Jam, will return on Friday 12th November from 7pm to 10pm, at the Millennium Gallery.

The ever-popular evening will feature craft demonstrations, hands-on activities, longer workshops and a pay bar. The event will celebrate craft and creativity in Sheffield and the North.

Sheffield Museums are looking for a variety of 12 -14 makers to collaborate with on this event. You could do a demonstration of your craft; run a drop-in, hands-on activity; or deliver a longer workshop session, lasting up to 20 minutes, that visitors can sign up to on the night. Previous activities have included: lino printing, wood turning, needle felting, shibori dyeing, leather stamping, book making, clay wheel, papercraft, macrame, copper stamping etc.

Contributing to a Sheffield Museums event is a great opportunity to tell people about what you do in a new way. You can promote your business, online shop or other workshops. A small budget is available to cover contributors‘ costs and material fees of up to £100 per maker.

Most of all, it’s a fun and rewarding means to share your skills and encourage new people to enioy our city‘s crafts. If you’d be interested in getting involved or would like to know more, please get in touch: [email protected]
