Sheffield based, I have been writing CVs professionally since 2008, along with all other kinds of career-related content – personal statements, biographies, covering letters, LinkedIn profiles, web pages and so on. I am also happy to take on copy-editing and proofreading assignments. I have worked with hundreds of individuals from a wide range of sectors and specialisms, at all stages of their careers. I have helped people working within various strands of the arts and commercial creativity, including those seeking to establish or enhance portfolio careers. I also regularly work with those returning to the workplace, changing career path, or looking for a little more flexibility or work-life balance, as well as those facing redundancy, or at other career crossroads.
A standout up-to-date CV is a crucial element in your marketing tool kit. It is your first foot in the door when applying for exhibitions, residencies and other creative sector opportunities. The prospect of writing a CV that will create a positive and professional first impression and effectively showcase your artistic practice can be daunting. Where to start? What to include? What to omit? Finding the time too, when you’re busy every day in the studio, can be hard to overcome. That’s where I am here to help! My collaborative and consultative approach will ensure that your CV is effectively positioning you with specific career goals in mind.
While my writing is definitely a creative process, I also engage creatively as a potter and am an open studio member at the Art House and have a love of all things ceramic!
