I draw and paint people from life. Through careful observation and nuanced mark-making, I depict the psychology and, sometimes, sexuality of my sitters, recording shared moments of intimacy and personality.
My practice is grounded in the recording of sessions spent with my models. This does not necessarily equate to matter-of-fact academic poses or studies, but instead results in the documentation of my specific ideas and their execution at the time of the session.
In other words, rather than any grand allegorical or sociopolitical statements, I wish to record the time spent collaborating, talking and creating interesting and beautiful shapes.
Drawing people fascinates me far more than the advancement of contemporary art academia. I want to record moments in time between people, not a moment of the times.
Please get in touch if you'd like to sit for me or if you'd like to see/show my work.
