I explore my life through interactive stories and live art within my practice. I use unconventional sources as material that other people would avoid, testing audiences empathy levels. For instance I have a death row pen pal, and created a show exploring our friendship called Edgar & Me. Edgar wrote parts of the show and I read sections from our personal letters. And access ideas from different angles and contexts. I like to create a world within my performances for my audience to enter and be completely immersed in.I aim to make audiences feel a part of my shows, and my stories.
I have toured the UK and Europe, taking Edgar & Me to London, Edinburgh, 24 hour festival in Sibiu,
Dreams Before Dawn Festival in Paris, A performance house in Brussels and Wandsworth Fringe. I have also taken performances to Latitude Festival, Sibiu International Festival, CLAY and Camden
I have an MA in Performance from Leeds Beckett University, and am the artistic director of UnShut
Festival. UnShut aims to bring live art to Sheffield, opening doors for artists, who struggle to tour
their work in the conventional back box theatre spaces and make performance more accessible, with tickets too the festival at heavily discounted rates to ensure money isn't a barrier. Since working in Performance I have worked on projects with Ellie Harrison, Selina Thompson, Emma Beverly, Third
Angel and Theatre Delicatessen
