Laura Feltham

Events Officer

As part of the Events Team at Museums Sheffield I help plan and facilitate events to encourage greater visitor engagement and show our collections in a different light.

Working within a small team, I plan a programme of Lates that react to the collections and exhibitions we have on display. The city's museums and art galleries are for everyone. We hope the Lates are a chance for people to enjoy Sheffield's collection after hours, meet new people and try something new.

As well as the Live Lates, we also programme lunchtime talks, workshops and classes at the Millennium Gallery, Graves Gallery and Weston Park Museum.

I love working in a city where there are so many creative individuals and groups and enjoy the times in my job when we are lucky enough to partner with other organisations. I've worked with colleagues at Doc/Fest, The University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University, the Children's Media Conference, Off the Shelf, World Life, Folk Forest and many more of Sheffield's brilliant creators!

When studying fine art and art history, I specialised in the history of art by women and feminism in fine art. I really enjoy being able to use this experience in my work and have planned events for International Women's Day for the last two years.

In my spare time, I volunteer with Sheffield's local Amnesty International Group.
