Letty Butler

Writer, Actress, Coach

Like many creatives, I'm a bit of a jack-of-all-trades. I'm an actress by profession - I trained at LAMDA and am represented by United Agents - but I'm also a writer, editor and coach.

Since moving back to Sheffield in 2018, I've completed an MA in Creative Writing at SHU and spent 18 months as Creative Director at Kurious Arts, where I collaborated on many creative initiatives. I'm now training to be a coach, specialising in Mental Health & Wellness, with a particular interest in working with creative individuals & organisations.

I run The Virtual Writers Caff - a wonderfully dynamic & diverse online group for writers of all genres, and am currently working on the fourth draft of my debut novel. I'm keen to collaborate with fellow creatives on interesting and unique projects in an acting, writing or coaching capacity.

More on the acting/writing:

My screen work includes BBC's Jane Eyre, Parade's End, Wolfblood, Miranda, Father Brown, New Tricks and Katy.

I spent four years as one half of comedy double act LetLuce with Lucy Pearman. We took three shows up to Edinburgh, the last of which transferred to Soho Theatre in 2015. We also wrote and performed two shorts, both of which made it to LOCO at the BFI, Aesthetica & Underwire film festivals. Independently, I've written a full length play which was workshopped at the Young Vic in 2014, and a comedy pilot for TV.
