I’m Laura. I’m a visual storyteller who helps organisations think visually to think differently, using the power of pictures to explain processes, engage audiences and drive change.
I help charities, the public sector and businesses large and small to mobilise communities, build brands and get things done through the power of visual communication. I’ve been honoured to work with the NHS, the Ministry of Justice, ESCR, Cochrane Group, Universities of Sheffield, York, Leeds and California Sheffield City Council, and a host of inspiring local businesses to drive change through effective design.
I offer visual storytelling and rich pictures, live scribing/illustration/graphic recording, brand strategy and design, and more traditional graphic design skills such as print design, web design and illustration.
Prior to freelancing, I worked in the voluntary, higher education and social research sector. As a result, my approach to design is participatory and user-oriented to produce work that resonates with and inspires change amongst complex audiences. I’m particularly interested in visual storytelling – how design can be used to tell stories that evoke emotions and prompt action.
I’m looking forward to connecting with other creatives to hone my craft and share the love! Feel free to get in touch if you fancy a coffee and a natter.
