My practice is focused around objects and collections. Process and
ritual are employed to enable the exploration of these objects.
Experimentation is vital and mark making in its broadest sense provides
the tool to search and discover ways to document, catalogue and interact
with these objects unfolding layers of narrative. Drawing and book making are fundermental to my work.
I make artist’s books and am a founding member of the Artist’s Book Centre Sheffield, home to the Sheffield International Artist’s Book Prize collection of 835 artist’s books. I was Director of SIX project space for four years a community of artists of the broadest persuasions. I helped to initiate projects, form collaborations and collect stories and experiences that could collectively enrich our community.
I have over twenty years experience within the visual arts both through practice and teaching. I have experience in teaching a broad range of art specialisms and mentoring young people and recent graduates. I also have experience in devising, developing and producing events of all kinds.
